Not only Pompeii, the Vesuvian and Neapolitan area is totally dotted with numerous historical and artistic sites of immense beauty and charming urban centers.
Starting from the nearby Castellammare di Stabia, easily reachable by car or train, it is possible to visit another important archaeological site: "Le Ville di Stabiae". Besides the excavations, the city of Castellammare di Stabia hosts the ancient Terme di Stabia and has a very characteristic historical center, typical of seaside towns.

Moving northwards, however, we find another archaeological complex of enormous importance. In the city of Torre Annunziata, also easily reachable by car or by train, in fact you can reach the Scavi di Oplonti where you can find the remains of the ancient Roman villa of Poppea, a grandiose residential building from the mid-1st century BC.

Adjacent to the cities of Pompeii and Torre Annunziata is instead Boscoreale, a village on the slopes of Vesuvius, which houses the Antiquarium, an archaeological museum where you can admire findings from the archaeological excavations of the surrounding areas (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplonti , Stabia and Boscoreale). In the area adjacent to the museum there is the archaeological area of a rustic villa, also from the Roman era, called Villa Regina, which can also be visited.

Finally, the archaeological itinerary must reach, not far, the city of Herculaneum which also houses an archaeological area of considerable interest equal to that of Pompeii.
Many of the housing structures of the excavations of Herculaneum, are in an excellent state of conservation and inside them it will be possible to admire masonry and mosaics of extreme and refined beauty.
